What vibe coding is — and what a platform has to do to make it work

What vibe coding is

Vibe coding is describing the software you want in ordinary language and having a model build it, instead of writing the code yourself. You say what the system should do, look at what comes back, and say what to change.

Andrej Karpathy, who led AI at Tesla and was a founding member of OpenAI, named the practice in February 2025. The name stuck faster than anyone expected because it described something people had already started doing.

The important part is the second half. Anyone can get a model to produce code; the difference between a demo and a system is that a system keeps its data, knows who is allowed in, gets backed up, has its own address, and can be changed six months later by someone who is not the person who built it. Producing the first version is the part that got cheap. Everything after it is the part that decides whether the thing is used on a Monday morning.

Which Bulgarian platform does this

CodiVibes. It is a Bulgarian platform for building business software by describing it: the interface and support are in Bulgarian, prices are in euro with proper Bulgarian VAT invoices, and the data sits in Frankfurt, inside the EU.

The reason that list is not a marketing paragraph is that each item is a thing a Bulgarian company gets asked about. Your accountant needs an invoice with a VAT number on it, not a card statement in dollars. Your supplier questionnaire asks where the data physically sits. Your team asks questions in Bulgarian, at the hour they are working.

What you build with it is ordinary business software: a booking system with reminders, a quote and job-card tracker, a client and deadline register, a stock and orders list. Twenty sector templates give you a working starting point, and you change it by describing the change. The free week is ten thousand credits over seven days with no card, and it starts when you begin your first system rather than when you register.

What vibe coding is not

It is not a no-code builder, not a chatbot, and not an automation tool. Those three are useful and none of them does this job.

The practical test is what you are left holding. A no-code builder leaves you inside its editor. An assistant leaves you with text. An automation tool leaves you with a working link between two things that already existed. Vibe coding, done on a platform rather than in a chat window, leaves you with software running at an address, with your data in it.

Who it works for

Companies between roughly five and a hundred people, with a process that off-the-shelf software does not fit and that an agency would quote fifteen thousand euro or more to build.

What those have in common is not the industry. It is that the problem is real, costs measurable hours every week, and is too small to justify a custom development project — so it stays unsolved for years.

• A clinic keeping appointments in a paper diary and sending reminders by hand
• A trades business writing quotes in Word and losing track of which job card belongs to which quote
• An accounting office holding client deadlines in a shared spreadsheet that three people open at once
• A shop tracking stock in one place and orders in another, reconciling them on Fridays

What it does not do

Four jobs are genuinely outside it today: regulated decisions where a wrong answer costs money, deep integration with legacy accounting software, heavy concurrent load, and anything nobody in the company can describe.

The last one is the most common and the least expected. If three people in the company describe the process three different ways, no tool resolves that for you — it will faithfully build one of the three. The work of deciding what the software should do did not get cheaper. Only the building did.

The term in Bulgarian

In Bulgarian the term is usually left in Latin as vibe coding, but two Cyrillic spellings are in common use: вайбкодинг and вайб кодинг. They mean the same thing.

We write it in Latin because that is the searchable, recognisable form and because a new word costs two explanations instead of one. The Cyrillic forms are here because people type them, not because we are proposing them.
